Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Impactful Labs LLC (“Maroon,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and protects personal information when you use the Maroon iOS application (the “app”) and the website at getmaroon.app.
1. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information. Your name and email address as provided through Sign in with Apple, and the profile data you enter in the app: age, sex, height, weight, activity level, and goal.
- App content. Meals, weigh-ins, templates, saved meals, and other entries you create in the app.
- Diagnostic information. Crash logs, app version, device model, and iOS version.
- Usage information. Pseudonymous product analytics events indicating which screens and features are used. This data does not include the contents of your meals or your weight values.
2. How we use information
- Provide app functionality, including calorie and protein target calculation and weekly target updates.
- Authenticate users and protect accounts.
- Diagnose crashes and improve stability.
- Send notifications you have enabled (such as weigh-in reminders).
- Comply with applicable legal obligations.
3. What we do not do
- We do not sell or rent personal information.
- We do not share personal information with advertisers.
- We do not use cross-app or cross-site tracking for advertising purposes.
- We do not use health data (weight, calories, protein) for any purpose other than providing the app to you.
4. Apple Health
With your permission, Maroon reads weight from Apple Health and writes calories and protein to Apple Health. You can grant or revoke either permission at any time in iOS Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → Maroon. Apple Health data is not used for advertising and is not shared with third parties.
5. Device permissions
Maroon may request the following iOS permissions:
- Camera. Used to scan barcodes when logging a meal.
- Microphone and Speech Recognition. Used for voice meal logging. Speech recognition is performed on-device.
- Notifications. Used only for reminders you have enabled.
- Photo Library. Used only if you choose to attach a photo to an entry.
You can change any of these permissions at any time in iOS Settings → Maroon.
6. Service providers
We use third-party service providers to operate the app, including providers for authentication, cloud hosting, crash reporting, and product analytics. These providers process personal information on our behalf under contractual obligations that restrict use of the information to the services they provide to us.
7. Children’s privacy
Maroon is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Your rights
You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate information, or request deletion. To make a request, email support@getmaroon.app from the email address associated with your account. Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have additional rights under laws such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). Exercising your rights is free, and we will not discriminate against you for doing so.
9. Account deletion
You can delete your account from within the app at Settings → Account → Delete account. Account deletion is permanent and removes your profile, meals, weigh-ins, templates, and saved meals. You may also request deletion by emailing support@getmaroon.app from the email address associated with your account.
We may retain a minimal record of deletion (such as that an account with a given identifier was deleted on a given date) when required by law or to prevent abuse.
10. Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active. After account deletion, personal information is removed within 30 days, except where longer retention is required by law.
11. Data location and international transfers
Maroon is operated from the United States. If you use the app from outside the United States, your information will be processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.
12. Security
We protect personal information using encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and on-device encryption for local data. No system is completely secure. If you suspect unauthorized access to your account, contact us promptly.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated in the app or by email before they take effect. The “Last updated” date above reflects the most recent revision.
